Two parts. I was the first doing the practical exam, went perfectly, with honors.
The second part was the theoretical side, and I got a 9! (10 is the best score)

yes, i've had to take to state board exams (written and practical) in the past: one for cosmetology certification and once for teacher certification.
i remember having a person with a clipboard hover around and it was nerve wracking at times.
