I just ran into this somewhere else, and it got me to think.

According to those with faith, these are facts:
God created the earth an everything on it.
God allowed us to have our own choice.

However now we are wrecking the earth God created. How far exactly, presuming there IS a God, do we have to wreck it before God steps in? I doubt God would like the creation being ruined?

Perfect theory topic, and don't you dare come here with "God does not exist". Remember we are presuming here that there IS a God wink.gif

Not really…

Say there is a god but the god is like a scientist, a non-interaction onto the -*test*-('") subject sort of being, he wouldn't Intervene.
Then there is the whole snuff fest loving deity that might want mass death and destruction for some sick pleasures. He might even push it on further for a good laugh...
What about the whole self centred deity who is pissed most of us don’t’ worship him and seeking punishment?
Or the deity who believes people must overcome challenge to prove themselves to either him or themselves?

Not to mention other, more complex, sorts of mindsets for deities that doesn’t answer the question in either a yes or a no.

a person of faith could say: man has been given dominion over the earth and free will. nothing would prove better to mankind that man is unable to perfect self-rule. it is better to learn something directly from experience and then people might approach a relationship with god with something other than blind obedience or hard-hearted rejection altogether.

would god like seeing one of his creations ruined? no. it isn't easy to stand back and watch your children make dreadful mistakes. wink.gif
