Greeting and hallucinations, everybody.

I be Tom, AKA the D-X Refugee Formerly Known as Ungruntled. I'm a startled 54, with five grown kids and an unbelieveably understanding wife of nearly 30 years. I'm a USian, or more specifically, a Michigander living on an island of liberosity called Austin, 'way out in the middle of a vast, dark, conservative sea named Texas.

::takes a deep breath::

Our home is cohabited by two other species -- dogs (2) and cats (2) -- and our yard is habitat to abandoned cats we feed and a pond full of fishies. Until four years ago, I did 'puter stuff for a higtech corporation for 22 years. Now I'm an unofficial, unintentional retired person and caregiver to my 85-year-old mother-in-law. I like reading (we have books EVrywhere, over 2,000 at last count), writing (four unpublished manuscripts and counting), building things, stargazing and occasionally Wondering Why. I used to be politically active, but not so much any more. I never throw anything away.

I want my tombstone to say, "What the hell was that all about?"
