Taking this idea from the other thread about disproving God if "irrefutable evidence" exists... is there such thing as irrefutable evidence?

Actually the question should be divided in:
1. is there something that's irrefutable?
2. is there something that everyone believes to be true?

(not trying to enter headlong into a discussion about "truth" yet)

Well.. to number two, yes there is: everyone believes that at some point in time you will die. THAT is the one thing we all believe and know to be true. What happens after that is debatable again of course.

Or were you talking another kind of irrefutable (nifty word by the way, was new for me smile.gif ) and did I misunderstand the question?

I could have very easily mastered in Philosophy, if we had such down here.

The answer is… No.

The universe is governed by belief, be it in something such as a deity or the belief that one will die. Belief is formed by the personal observations of an individual and no two people can observe a given bit of evidence in exactly the same way. If people can look at the same evidence and come to different conclusions then no evidence can ever be indisputable, even if the belief that stems from personal observation is greatly in error.
