I finally found a site with all sorts of smileys of the sort that we use here. There is one limitation to the smilies I can import to this forum, and that is the size. Not more than 5120 bytes.

If you right click on the smiley and click properties you will not only see the size of it, but also get the url of the smiley. Simply put it in a post like this:

{url}httpetcetcsmiley.gif{/url}

replacing the { and } with [ and ] of course. That will make a link to it and I can see which one it is

which code should i check?: ubb, html, ezboard or url?

Url. Just link to the smiley. You cannot use the other codes as hotlinking is not allowed from their server.

awww, bummer. the little soapbox smilie file was HUGE (15087). i had to look twice to make sure that i wasn't seeing incorrectly.

if i see something else...i think i figured out what i didn't do correctly and i may try again. if i'm going to look stupid, i figure i may as well look stupidx2.
