Yes, Adrian, but dinosaurs and men never coexisted, and men had no memory or knowledge of dinosaurs until about two hundred years ago when the first dug-up bones were put together, whereas the dragon myth has been around for more than a thousand years.
Wherever men got the inspiration for dragons, it wasn´t dinosaurs - it´s historically impossible.
(IMHO dragons and unicorns are a just that - myths - straight out of the wish for a better world: an idealised version of the pets people would have loved to tame and exploit: beautiful, immortal, and with magical abilities to deflect lightning/destroy one´s enemies/heal one´s illnessess/confer eternal youth on one, etc.)
