Ever seen the movie Sliding Doors, with Gwyneth Paltrow?

Quick summary from imdb.com:
QUOTE
Helen Quilley works in PR for a big London company...at least, for the first five minutes of the film. After she is sacked for taking some of the boss's Smirnoff, she heads back down to the Underground to catch the train to take her back to her flat. But as she runs down, we suddenly see her life split off. In one version, she catches the train and in the second, she misses it. Throughout the rest of the film we see what would have happened in each scenario. Her whole life changes in that split second. When she catches the train, she meets a charming man called James and gets home to find her boyfriend Gerry in bed with another woman. When she misses it, she ends up getting mugged before landing a crummy waitress job. I won't give away anymore than that but it is a fantastic film which you want to keep going when the credits start rolling. Quite funny but also a bit sad in places.

I have often wondered about that, "in another reality I would...", in my case in another reality I would have stayed married and maybe even have had kids. It all depends on where this split happens of course.

Realisticly speaking, we could make a split at virtually every second we make an important or even non trivial decision like whether to cross the street or not, but what if it could happen. What if a parallel version of our lives continues on, just that we don't know about it.

The fourth dimension, maybe? Or just sheer fantasy? wink.gif

It's an interesting thing... but the biggest issue that I see here is that people can't deal with the randomness of life. All the other posibilities die in the moment you take an action, there's no parallel Universe... at least not from what I can see biggrin.gif

I am not saying there is wink.gif I am saying SUPPOSE there is.

I should have elaborated a bit and made my intention more clear.. suppose there IS a parallel dimension, where do YOU go when the split is made. Which you do you stay with, consciously.

I mean.. who are we to say there IS no parallel universe, for all we know there is one and we don't know it. I haven't seen anything to prove or disprove it. wink.gif
