I love that series, have been following it for the past 3 or 4 shows. Anyway..

the most recent one that aired here involved someone who needed a kidney transplant to get better. The guy didn't get put on the donor list for reasons that don't matter here. His wife said: run a -*test*-('"), you'll see we're a match. Turns out they are indeed a match, however, they find out that she is pregnant and because of that cannot be a donor.

So... she is her husband's only chance of survival, but because she is pregnant she cannot be a donor. She goes and will have an abortion (against the husband's wishes by the way, they have been trying for a really long time) so she can be a donor.

Who would you pick, baby or hubs, and where is your tipping point?

I remember that episode...forgot how it ended though.

I would choose my baby. For this reason...my husband might not always want to be with me...divorces happen. And, I remember what it was like when I was pregnant...I had a relationship with that baby. I knew him and he was part of me. I was bonded to my son before he was born. I would always be his mother no matter what...when he moves away from me, when he is independant, I will always be his mother. But like I said, my husband might not always remain my husband. I stick with the sure thing. No right to life position taken.

I had an acquaintence who had aborted because she and her husband were having problems and "it wasn't the right time to have a baby" He ultimately divorced her and she is now unable to conceive (reason unknown).

Naturally this decision comes with a lot of grief and tears and searching for alternatives...could I deliver the baby early and then be a donor? Is there enough time to wait and see who could come up on the donor list? Is dialysis an alternative until the baby could be safely born? It would never be an easy decision.
