How on earth did you associate that with a skunk?

a skunk, in terms of cribbage, is when you beat your opponent by 30 points or more. i don't know why it's referred to as a "skunk". when i was little, i asked my grammy about why it was called a skunk and she told me it was because it stunk when someone beat you by that much. i don't know if that was the truth or her brand of humor.
