The Flourissiquette
After registering you will not immediately have access. To avoid spam bots you will receive an email from me with in there a few questions you have to answer. When you have returned your replies to me I will decide on your membership. No reply results in denial.
When you have made your way in it shouldn't be too hard to follow a few simple rules. One is to not misbehave. You will get a warning from me the first time, if I have to give you another one you will be warned again but three violations is the charm and you will be banned. This decision is not negotiable.
When you are in doubt about posting a topic and whether or not it is appropriate, PM me and I will make a decision on it. There are forums which can hold the strong topics of debate, like politics and religion. If you are not comfortable with the possibility of getting bitch slapped, stay out. Also, I will not really mod in the politics forum, so if someone calls you names in there, you'll just have to deal. However, serious threats to life and such extreme things are not allowed. I think that is only logical, no?
You are allowed to post images on the forums. However, to keep this site accessible for those on slower connections, keep both the file size AND the image size on a reasonable level. Do not link to images above 100k, and don't make them larger than 400 x 400, your image will automatically be resized anyway if you do.
I really would like to see each new member posting a new topic instead of solely replying to what is already there. It keeps the flow going and also makes things more diverse. Don't leave the burden of thinking something up to just a few!
As for everything else, it is just like in real life in here:
- Do not call each other names, be nice. If you know a person from a previous board and you don't like him or her, that is tough shit. Either be nice, or leave. The choice is always yours; no-one is forcing you to interact with this person.
- If you disagree with someone's post, comment on the disagreement, not on the person. It is normal to have a different point of view and both of you may feel yours is the only correct one: respect that AND each other.
- If you feel someone is misbehaving, hit the report button, that is what it is there for. Do not go into a discussion with this person as it will lead you nowhere. If you really cannot resist the urge, take it up with the person in a PM or through email. Other members on this board are likely not even interested in your disagreement.
- No shouting (typing in ALL CAPS LIKE THIS), and no AlTeRnAtInG caps for goodness sakes. Use normal English language as you would see written in a book. Of course we can all make a typo, and we're not all native English, all that is forgiven, but don't do this "ur the roxors" or this "gr8!" or other similar stuff. It is hard to read, it is irritating and it will not get your point across any better.
- Leave the modding to me, plain and simple. I doubt there will be much modding to be done, as I know you are all adults, but just to cover all grounds. Again, use that report button if you see something is amiss.
Above all this, have fun. This place should be just that: fun. Read and learn from each other, and you just might come out with a different opinion on things, life is like that, you know ;)
